a cruise

for christmas this year my parents decided instead of giving us lots of presents to open up on christmas morning, something more meaningful and consumable, as opposed to stuff, my dad is really into that lately, would be to take the whole family on a cruise.

so, four days after christmas we loaded up the cars in montgomery, alabama, where my brother and his family live, and drove three hours south to mobile where we left for a five day carnival cruise to mexico.

while vacationing and relaxing with my family i came to realize, that though i've been on lots of vacations and have traveled all over the world, a cruise, for me, having now been on three, really is an ideal vacation. therefore, i suggested to my family a top ten list of things i've learned on a cruise.

enjoy...

top ten things i’ve learned on a cruise.

1. everyone looks good with a natural sun-kissed tan.

2. there is always someone who looks better than you, but more importantly, always someone who looks worse.

3. all you can eat buffet is a great idea in theory, but not in real life.

4. steel drum music really DOES put you in a good mood.

5. waiters don’t question what you eat, their job, simply keep bringing it out.

6. always hope it’s your turn to karaoke after someone who’s bad.

7. cruise ship showers are NOT for tall people.

8. bingo whenever and wherever is a privilege in this country.

9. a conga line is the only way to get anywhere.

10. if you can’t find something fun to do...it’s your own fault.

more to come...
